BURLINGTON, ON CANADA – (May 6, 2020) – Qwhery, who recently announced their emerging partnership with Esri, the global market leader in geographic information system (GIS) software, along with SaFuture Inc has just launched a new platform to help inform people with up-to-date COVID-19 stats and information, directly to their mobile devices via text message.
Anyone can register to receive free COVID-19 alerts or daily and weekly summary notifications for confirmed cases, recoveries, tests and deaths within their Health Region in Canada or their county in the United States.
“We heard from people in our communities that they didn’t know where to find local information about this pandemic” said Sabrina Tang, Owner of SaFuture Inc, a collaborator with Qwhery on this initiative. “We wanted to do our part and build a solution that could help inform people in our communities.”
Maps, Data and Alerts
The solution uses registrant’s generalized location to figure out which Health Region or county they live in, and sends text messages to them whenever there are newly confirmed cases nearby. Subscribers can also opt in for daily or weekly summary messages to stay up to date as we begin to flatten the curve. The solution also shares maps with current data showing the cases by 100,000 population across Canada and the United States.
“The information we’re sharing is derived from authoritative data provided by John Hopkins University and Esri Canada, through both their amazing efforts to help understand the impact of this pandemic with incredible data visualizations.” said Matt Pietryszyn, Founder of Qwhery. “Now we can serve that information directly to our subscribers.”
